  • Everton eyeing a move for Artyom Dovvik
        • Everton aim to sign ‘incredible’ Coleman successor who impressed scouts

Everton are now reported to have their sights set on signing the Serie A striker, who is prioritizing a move to the Premier League in 2026.

Moyes is ‘delighted’ to have brought in ‘the right player’ in January

It’s a big month for the Toffees. David Moyes’ side have already laid the foundations in the first half of the season and have shown a lot of potential, but they desperately need additional quality to take the next step. If the Friedkin group spends correctly, that could happen in the January transfer window.

Moyes spoke out about the winter season, telling reporters he would only look for “the right players”. “I’ve always said I don’t think we’re going to do too much business in January. If we find a player, we’ll be happy to do it. The CEO as well, the owners as well.”

“Rather, it’s about trying to plan. The owners want us to plan and prepare in a certain way. I don’t think there will be a lot of quick fixes. That’s the way things are going.”

The veteran manager also gave his opinion on whether a new striker is needed, telling reporters: “Maybe we’d like to incorporate other things if we can. I don’t want to get people’s hopes up. There’s so much speculation out there. I kind of laughed at it.”

It remains to be seen whether Moyes simply has a better poker face, but rumors are certainly spreading quickly. Everton are reportedly interested in the Serie A star, with the likes of Evan Ferguson already being linked with the club.

Everton are currently looking to sign Artem Dovvik from AS Roma in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

Everton eyeing a move for Artyom Dovvik

The Roma forward has struggled since joining and for a while looked destined to leave. He is currently said to be prioritizing a move to the Premier League, with interest from Sunderland, Everton and West Ham United.

Everton aim to sign ‘incredible’ Coleman successor who impressed scouts

The Toffees will finally be able to replace Coleman.

However, he is not cheap. As it stands, Dovvik is said to be earning around £94,000 a week in Italy, which would instantly make him the sixth highest-paid player at Everton, ahead of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The question Everton will have to ask themselves is whether a player who has scored just two goals all season is worth that salary.

What the Toffees need most is another struggling striker and the statistics suggest Dovvik will give Moyes just that in the January transfer window.

The veteran manager reiterated that he is looking for suitable players next month rather than trying to force reinforcements. If so, they may look elsewhere rather than Dovbyk when the winter window opens wide.
