Manager Fabrizio Romano has announced that Harvey Elliott will be returning to Liverpool from his loan at Aston Villa during the January transfer window.

The winger initially joined Villa on loan from their Premier League rivals, with the condition that the club must make his transfer permanent after 10 appearances.

So far this season, Elliott has played five times for Villa, managing to score once.

According to Italian journalist Romano, “Aston Villa made a last-minute decision to sign Harvey Elliott.”

It was on deadline day that he wasn’t getting playing time, leading to dissatisfaction at Liverpool.

“The players were unhappy, and Villa is eager to find a resolution. As such, Harvey Elliott will return to Liverpool to reassess his options, whether staying or going out on loan again.”

“Discussions will be held about Harvey Elliott’s future.”

Fan Take: This news is significant for soccer fans as it highlights the challenges young talents face when seeking playing time and development. Elliott’s return could provide Liverpool with a chance to reassess his potential impact, making for an intriguing narrative in the upcoming transfer discussions.
