Former Scottish winger John Robertson, a two-time European Cup winner with Nottingham Forest and scorer of the only goal in the 1980 final, has passed away at the age of 72. The Premier League club expressed their sorrow in a statement, calling him a “legend” and a “dear friend,” though the cause of death has not been revealed.
During his five-year international career, Robertson earned 28 caps for Scotland, including participation in the 1982 World Cup. He became an iconic figure at Nottingham Forest, playing a crucial role in their European Cup victories in 1979 and 1980.
