Liverpool fought their way to a 2-1 win against Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds have not been at their best in recent games, but Arne Slott’s side are currently on a four-game winning streak and are unbeaten in their last seven games, so at least they are improving.

Let’s take a look at today’s evaluation of Liverpool players. Florian Wirtz was outstanding in the hard-fought home victory against Wolves…

Liverpool’s player ratings after beating Wolves 2-1

Alisson Becker – 7 – A steady performance from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, who was unlucky in the Wolves goal with his first save, led to Santiago Bueno’s rebound.

Jeremy Frimpong – 7.5 – We finally got to see Frimpong, who was a major attacking threat for Bayer Leverkusen with his brilliant assist for Grafenberg’s goal.

Ibrahima Konate – 6 – Wasn’t at his best in goal for Wolves, being brought down in the air after having nothing else to do for the majority of the game.

Virgil van Dijk – 6 – At one point, he was given the ball cheaply and was forced to run away, but he became an important leader for Liverpool as they held on in the second half.

Milos Kerkes – 7.5 – After a slow start, Milos Kerkes started to look much more comfortable in a Liverpool shirt, and today he dominated down the left flank with strong tackling and excellent passing to propel his team forward.

Ryan Gravenbirch – 7.5 – It was a brilliant goal to round off a generally good midfield performance for Liverpool. Ryan Gravenbirch is truly LFC’s Mr. Consistent.

Curtis Jones – 6 – A reliable hard worker, but when trying to do more ambitious things he sometimes let Liverpool down with overly cautious passes and some wayward balls.

Federico Chiesa – 5 – Arne Slott had an unusual start, but it’s safe to say that Federico Chiesa didn’t make the most of his chance, so he probably won’t be back in the first eleven anytime soon.

Alexis Mac Allister – 6 – He is quiet again in midfield, as he has been for some time, lacking the kind of brilliance we have come to associate with him.

Florian Wirtz – 8.5 – It wasn’t the toughest of opponents, but they showed a really convincing performance, scoring well. Liverpool fans will be hoping this is the start of more success for Florian Wirtz.

Hugo Ekitike – 6 – Hit the post, but other than that it was a bit of a quiet game and they were unable to continue their recent scoring streak.

Subs: Connor Bradley – 7, Kodi Gakpo – N/A, Trey Nyoni – N/A
