White Avario, owned by C2 Racing Stables LLC, Gary Barber, and La Milagrosa Stables LLC, will skip the Grade 2 Mr. Prospector Stakes scheduled for December 27, according to co-owner Mark Cornett’s post on X. Cornett told Thoroughbred Daily News that instead, the son of Raceday will continue training in preparation for the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup on January 24.
“We plan to keep training him for his seven-year-old season so he will be ready and in peak condition for Pegasus and the rest of the season,” Cornett shared with TDN. “This particular race didn’t benefit us.” Cornett also mentioned that if the horse performs well at Pegasus, they will target the Grade 1 Dubai World Cup on March 28.
