Chelsea may reportedly struggle to find a replacement for Enzo Maresca. This is because one of the promising candidates is not interested in the job.

The manager in question is Porto manager Francesco Faglioli, who is currently reluctant to move to the Premier League, particularly Chelsea’s current project.

This is according to a report by Portuguese outlet O Jogo, which also states that Farioli’s contract has a buyout clause of 15 million euros.

Porto fans will no doubt be happy to hear that the talented young Italian tactician, who has an impressive 84.62% win rate with the club, is keen to stay.

Are managers refusing the Chelsea manager’s job?

Mr Faglioli’s news follows claims from some earlier rounds that a number of managers have already turned down the Stamford Bridge job today.

See below. Simon Phillips reacted to the news, saying that “of course” there would be problems attracting top managers to Chelsea at the moment…

Farioli may have been the person the Blues approached to replace Maresca, although no specific name was mentioned in the post.

The 36-year-old could be the perfect fit for this CFC project, as he is looking in good shape at the moment, but is still young enough and will definitely continue to develop as a manager.

One would imagine that Farioli would be keen to move on to a top job in a more competitive league soon, but Chelsea do not seem to be able to hire him for now.

Who else could fit into Chelsea’s slot?

According to Fabrizio Romano, Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior is highly regarded within Stamford Bridge and would make sense as an internal hire as he is already at another Bruco club…

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claims Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola could also be one to watch after his impressive form in the Premier League.
