Leeds United striker Joel Pillow has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.
According to a report in the Guardian (h/t MOT Leeds News), Leeds United are under pressure to sell several players in order to make ends meet. They are under pressure from PSR and must sell players by June 30th to make ends meet.
Leeds could sell Joel Pillow
Leeds could target the striker this month, but it remains to be seen what his eventual fate will be. Leeds have signed the 26-year-old Dutch striker for a fee of around £10m in 2023. It seems unlikely that Leeds will be able to recoup such a sum for him. Perhaps they will have to accept the loss of the player and let him go.
It will be interesting to see if they can secure a reasonable fee for the player. They need to recoup a reasonable amount from his retirement. Otherwise, the PSR situation will not improve.
Piroué needs a new start
Meanwhile, the player will aim to join a competitive team where he plays regularly. It remains to be seen where he will end up. He has shown his quality in the Championship in the past and a return to the second tier of English football could be ideal for him.
Meanwhile, Leeds United could also look to sign Ilan Meslier. The goalkeeper has struggled to get regular minutes in the Premier League and needs to move on. Sitting on the bench at Leeds will not do him any favors. English clubs should also consider getting rid of useless players to make ends meet.
