Leeds United are one of the clubs interested in signing Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney.

According to Sports Boom, they were interested in signing the player during the January period. It will be interesting to see if they decide to return for him in the summer.

They consider the 23-year-old central midfielder to be their ‘future captain’ and the transfer fee could be around £30m to £35m. He has consistently proven himself and the opportunity to move to the Premier League is exciting for him. He plans to test himself at the highest level.

Leeds United need to ensure Premier League safety before signing a player of his quality. Hackney will not want to join Leeds United if they are in the Championship. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop. Leeds are currently fighting to stay in the club. They must now focus on securing Premier League football next season.

It’s no secret that they need more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and Hackney would be a solid signing. He will bring control, creativity and calmness to the team. He aims to compete at the highest level and a move to the Premier League next season would be ideal. Hackney has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months, and it remains to be seen whether he will ultimately be able to complete a move before the summer.
