If you’re a player who could use some help with long yardage approaches, and who doesn’t? – then it might be time to upgrade the top of your bag with a new selection of hybrids.

Many manufacturers released high-performance hybrids in 2025, but one model stood out as the top seller of the year in Fairway Jockey. It’s PING’s G440.

Ping’s G440 product line was very well received this year, with the Ping G440 Max Fairway Wood also earning top-selling honors in its category. The G440 Hybrid is specifically designed to replace hard-to-hit long irons, helping you hit the ball higher and stay on the green.

Ping’s G440 Hybrid is notable in that it’s suitable for a wide range of skill levels. The clubs are available in lofts ranging from 17 degrees to 34 degrees and accommodate 2-iron through 7-iron.

The 2 Hybrid includes a fade bias to aid off-the-tee performance, while the 5, 6, and 7 Hybrids have a built-in draw bias to help optimize gaps. New, thinner face design increases ball speed and launch.

In GOLF’s 2025 club test, players were impressed with the club’s distance and forgiveness.

“This club had great distance and carries,” said tester Jerry Wenker, who has a handicap of 17. “It’s the kind of club you want to win bets on out of the rough.”

Seven-handicapper David Carroll agreed. “We maintained ball speed and consistent ball flight,” he said. “I got great trajectory and carry.”

The G440 hybrids appeal to a variety of skill levels, each designed to deliver different ball flight characteristics, from a 2-hybrid with a slight fade bias for enhanced performance off the tee, to a draw-inducing 5, 6, and 7 hybrid to help optimize gaps. They all share a new design with a shallower, thinner face that improves face contact, increases ball speed, and allows for high trajectory shots that catch and hold the green. Hit high ground softly. Optimized launch and spin provide stopping power and distance. Free hosel design saves weight and lowers center of gravity, optimizing launch/spin and increasing forgiveness. Rounded Sole Ensures a comfortable face angle in all hosel settings Carbon Flywrap Lightweight carbon crown reduces weight, increases MOI and lowers center of gravity.
