Colts Neck Stable’s Hometown Bound extended his unbeaten streak by winning the 31st race of the $123,750 Turfway Preview for 3-Year-Old Horses at Turfway Park on Saturday, finishing a length and a quarter ahead as the clear favorite. Trained by Jorge Duarte Jr. from New Jersey and ridden by jockey Victor Carrasco, Hometown Bound completed the six-furlong race on an all-weather track in 1:18.27.

Right from the start, Hometown Bound and Shipmate showed impressive speed battling for the lead. Upon hitting the main track, Hometown Bound pulled ahead, finishing the first quarter-mile in 22.85 seconds. As the race progressed, longshot Blessed Warrior found a gap inside Shipmate and challenged, but Hometown Bound maintained a strong pace through the half-mile at 46.72 seconds. In the final stretch, Carrasco skillfully guided Hometown Bound past competitors to secure the win.

Trendsetter made a late charge to surpass Blessed Warrior, while Shipmate and Sometime followed behind. With this victory, Hometown Bound earned $77,000 for his connections and increased his total earnings to $105,200, boasting a perfect 2-for-2 record, including a previous win on dirt at Laurel Park on November 11.

Hometown Bound is a gray Mithole colt, out of Daughter—a stakes-winning mare by The Factor. He was bred in Kentucky by G. Watts Humphrey Jr., Vicki Oliver, and G. Watts Humphrey III and was sold for $350,000 at the 2025 OBS March Training Sale for 2-year-olds.

Fan Take: Hometown Bound’s continued dominance highlights the excitement and potential of young talent in horse racing, signaling a promising future for the sport’s next generation. For fans, this showcases the thrilling competition and skill involved, keeping horse racing vibrant and engaging.
