Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest understanding as former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been linked with both Manchester City and Manchester United.
The Italian tactician recently left Chelsea and Romano has reiterated that he is someone being considered as an option for Man City after Josep Guardiola leaves the club.
However, Romano also revealed on his YouTube channel that Guardiola has not yet made a decision on his future.
It is therefore difficult to know if or when Maresca will be able to go to the Etihad Stadium, but his relationship with Man United does not appear to be concrete.

Commenting on some reports from Italy about Maresca, Romano said: “Despite all the questions I’m getting about Enzo Maresca and Manchester United, there are rumors in Italy that he could have a role at Manchester United.
“What I am hearing at the moment is that Manchester City are interested in Enzo Maresca in the future.
“As I always say, it’s not imminent. It’s not guaranteed. Whether Enzo Maresca will be available as manager when Pep Guardiola decides to leave remains to be seen. But Pep hasn’t made any decisions at this stage, so Man City are interested.”
“The message from Manchester United is that this is not the coach we have now, but a different kind of coach for the summer. This is why we are hearing from Italy that the link for Maresca to take up the Manchester United job immediately is not concrete at all at this stage.”
“Man United will take their time to start the process and try to understand who is the best manager by the 2026-2027 season.”
Is Enzo Maresca better suited to manage United or City?
Although Maresca was not able to impress everyone during his time at Chelsea, he led the team to playing good football and winning big trophies such as the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup.
However, his lack of experience compared to Guardiola means it will be difficult for the Spaniard to get the job after his huge success with the Sky Blues.
On the other hand, judging from Romano’s comments, United don’t seem to have a strong interest in Maresca and could perhaps aim a little further up.
