Tottenham Hotspur are currently close to signing a ‘special’ star player who is keen to move to north London, with an offer of £40 million on the table.
Spurs close to agreeing new contract amid uncertainty over Frank
Transfer expert Graham Bailey has suggested there are internal doubts regarding Tottenham Frank following Tottenham’s latest setback, which saw them eliminated from the FA Cup at the weekend by defeating Aston Villa.
A relocation expert said: “While Tottenham Hotspur’s hierarchy is divided over the future of Thomas Frank, the club remains determined not to make any changes this season.
“Spurs CEO Vinay Venkatesham believed he had acquired the right man when he lured Frank across London from Brentford in the summer.
“But we have now heard from sources that Venkatesham has been warned by some in the Spurs hierarchy that the former Arsenal man will not fit into their system and the Tottenham players already on site.”
The Lilywhites have yet to pull the trigger on Frank, with the board still having to decide whether to uphold him or fire him, but it appears they have chosen the former.
Santos defender Souza is expected to sign for Tottenham, but it appears the Brazilian ace will not be the only new addition, with manager David Ornstein admitting he is close to signing Atletico Madrid star Conor Gallagher.
In a report for The Athletic, Ornstein said Spurs had submitted a €40 million bid for the midfielder, which was expected to be accepted, and that a move was imminent given Gallagher is keen to move to north London despite rival interest from Aston Villa.
Manager Fabrizio Romano has since confirmed that Villa have also agreed a deal, but the former Chelsea man has opted to move to the N17 instead.
The midfielder has not featured well this season and is still in the hunt for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s 2026 World Cup squad, with a return to England looming.
‘Special’ Gallagher could be familiar with Tottenham contract
The former Chelsea player joins Tottenham with a wealth of experience in England, making 136 appearances in the Premier League for the Blues and Crystal Palace, during which time he scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists.
Tottenham sign £61m goalkeeper as Vicario keen to leave
Spurs are considering signing a new goalkeeper.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, the 25-year-old received high praise from Petr Cech: “He’s one of those players who is always concerned about winning and the club.
”You can see that even young players have special abilities to become leaders. Connor is one of those players – he’s always worked hard, he’s always cared, he’s always tried his best. ”
With Joao Parinha’s future up in the air, it would make sense to bring in a new midfielder as Gallagher’s Premier League experience could make him a smart addition.
