  • Everton give green light to £40m star signing
  • ‘Great’ Strand Larsen continues to excel at Everton
        • Everton join race to sign 26-cap international defender, potentially costing £0

According to recent reports, Everton have been given permission to sign from their Premier League rivals in the January transfer window.

Everton give green light to £40m star signing

So far, there have been no convictions from Everton, just rumors. The Toffees still have a number of issues to address within David Moyes’ squad, which has led to targets like Youssef En-Nesyri and Callum Wilson emerging.

The latter could be a player to keep an eye on, with reports that he intends to terminate his contract with West Ham before looking for his next move.

Wilson, a veteran striker in the Premier League these days, could provide much-needed guidance to Tierno Barry while providing Everton with the reliable goalscorer they needed.

Then there’s the En-Nesyri incident. According to recent reports, Everton have submitted a loan offer with an option to sign the Fenerbahçe player, but they will have to wait until the end of the AFCON to potentially sign the Moroccan international.

It’s no surprise that the Toffees have shifted their focus to another striker this month. Barry is starting to find his feet, but the numbers don’t lie. The forward has scored just three goals in the Premier League since joining the club for around £34 million in the summer.

Moyes needs more consistency if he is to get the club back into the top half. And if not En-Nesyri or Wilson, it could be Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

According to Team Talk, Everton have given the green light to sign Strand Larsen, who is keen to join the Friedkin group and could cost as little as £40m this month following a significant price drop in the Midlands.

‘Great’ Strand Larsen continues to excel at Everton

On paper, some might be quick to point out that Everton would sign a struggling striker, but that doesn’t tell the whole story about Strand-Larsen.

The Norwegian is part of a Wolves side who have struggled all season and are only just finding their footing under Rob Edwards. They are particularly struggling going forward, and Strand Larsen is a striker who needs to flourish. Everton would offer him just that,

These numbers suggest that when opportunities were created last season, Strand Larsen outperformed his expected goals, hitting 14 during the season.

Although he hasn’t been as outstanding this time, he is only expected to score around three goals, highlighting how slow the Wolves are looking forward.

The Toffees are looking to strengthen their backline.

Last season was described as “fantastic” by Alan Shearer, and Everton should see last season as solid evidence of Strand-Larsen’s talent. Considering his price has also reportedly fallen to around £40m, the Toffees could strike a bargain deal.
