Tottenham Hotspur are set to sell Alejo Velis this month, having already agreed a deal with Brazilian club Bahia.

According to a report by Alejo Gerbaudo, the two clubs have “agreed” a transfer fee of around 10 million euros for the attacker, but the player is said to be reluctant to make the move. He wants to participate in the Copa Libertadores with Rosario Central.

Bellis has been linked with other clubs in the past. He has also experienced failure on loan.

The striker is currently on loan at Rosario Central and spent his career with the Argentine club before joining Tottenham. The 22-year-old has failed to establish himself as a key player at the Premier League club, making just one senior appearance for the club. It is clear that he has no future at Tottenham and it would be ideal for him to leave Tottenham permanently.

The Brazilian club are prepared to let him leave permanently this month, but he wants to remain with his boyhood club. It will be interesting to see if all parties can come to an agreement.

Bellis has scored 24 goals in 79 games for Rosario Central and has the potential to develop into a clinical striker. Playing regularly for his boyhood club could be ideal for his current development. He clearly enjoys playing football in his comfort zone.

However, Tottenham are hoping to free up the player’s job and recoup some funds from his departure. Bahia now have to convince the striker as they have already agreed a contract with the Brazilian club. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.

It will be interesting to see if Rosario Central are interested in making him a permanent transfer. That might be ideal for players as well.
