Everton have now reportedly launched an investigation into signing the Premier League striker worth around £25 million.

Everton begin search to sign Premier League striker

It’s no secret that the Toffees have their sights set on improving their attacking side this month, but Tierno Barry’s development has diminished the urgency, at least for manager David Moyes.

The forward scored what would become the winning goal against Aston Villa on Sunday with a shot on target, beating Emiliano Martinez.

He finally proved his doubters wrong at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, scoring three goals in his last four Premier League games since joining in the summer.

Sadly, although there has been no shortage of goals lately, Everton are still looking for attacking reinforcements. Callum Wilson is not the only player threatening to steal the headlines, with clubs reportedly inquiring about the possibility of signing him before West Ham United changed their stance on transfers.

Youssef En-Nesyri has also been linked with a move to the Toffees. The Fenerbahce forward impressed at AFCON when Morocco controversially fell to the final hurdle against Senegal, but could now be on the move.

But, as always, Everton have plenty of competition ahead of them. In addition to them, Nottingham Forest and Napoli are also among the clubs vying for the impressive forward.

This could send Everton back to the drawing board in search of attacking reinforcements, potentially turning them towards their Premier League rivals before the January transfer window closes.

According to Ryan Taylor of the Mirror, Everton are currently inquiring about signing Wilson Isidore, with the Sunderland striker valued at a whopping £25m.

Everton should not overpay Isidore

Everton could use a striker, that’s not up for debate. But that doesn’t mean they should overpay to solve that problem, and that’s exactly what they will do by signing Isidore for £25m.

Moyes’ new Grealish: Everton open talks with Premier League star for £250,000 a year

Everton are interested in signing one of the Premier League’s most decorated stars this year.

The Sunderland striker has struggled for starts in the Premier League, only featuring in 11 of 20 games, but Everton look set to make the most of his predicament on Wearside.

Comparing Isidore and Barry, the former had very similar performances on his debut in the Premier League, although he played less time.

For £25 million, Everton should be looking for a striker who is not a player of the same caliber and can be an immediate upgrade to their current options, making Isidore the wrong choice.

The question Everton will have to ask is whether Sunderland’s price will drop in the summer. The forward’s game time is unlikely to improve any time soon, which could leave him with no choice but to explore a move.
