BMO Stadium, Los Angeles, California — Trinity Rodman, a key player for the U.S. Women’s National Team, has officially signed a three-year contract to continue her journey with the Washington Spirit, as announced by team owner Michelle Kang during a press event at BMO Stadium on Saturday.

Rodman’s future was previously uncertain due to interest from top European clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal in the Women’s Super League. She has expressed thoughts about potentially playing overseas, noting that timing would be crucial for such a move.

Having been drafted as the second overall pick in the 2021 NWSL College Draft, Rodman has reaffirmed her commitment to the Spirit. In the 2025 NWSL season, she scored five goals and contributed two assists, though injuries impacted her performance. Rodman already boasts considerable achievements, including winning the NWSL Championship in 2021 and receiving the Rookie of the Year and U.S. Soccer Young Player of the Year accolades that same year.

Internationally, Rodman has played 47 matches for the U.S. Women’s National Team, securing six major international titles, including a gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Since joining the national squad, she has netted 11 goals and assisted on nine.

This news is significant for soccer fans because Rodman’s continued presence in the NWSL strengthens the league’s competitiveness while also raising its profile. Her decision allows fans to witness her growth and contributions domestically before any potential international ventures, highlighting the evolving landscape of women’s soccer.
