Caitlin Clark Steps into the Spotlight as Analyst on NBC’s “Sunday Night Basketball” for Her Debut

WNBA star Caitlin Clark is embarking on a new journey beyond the basketball court.

NBC revealed on Tuesday that Clark will make a special guest appearance ahead of the network’s “Sunday Night Basketball” kickoff on February 1. She will feature on “Basketball Night in America” during the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood praised Clark, calling her one of the most captivating players and explosive scorers in basketball. Flood also expressed excitement about Clark joining NBA legends Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, and Reggie Miller, who are all set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Clark’s role with NBC extends beyond just one game. She is slated to return as a pregame analyst on March 29 for the matchup between the Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Clark shared her enthusiasm about joining the “Basketball Night in America” team, calling Carmelo, Vince, and Tracy legends and commending Maria for her professionalism. She looks forward to appearing with them multiple times this season.

A University of Iowa alum, Clark holds the NCAA Division I all-time scoring record with 3,951 points and was twice honored as the AP Player of the Year. Selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever, she earned Rookie of the Year honors and is a two-time WNBA All-Star.
