  • Harvey Elliott struggles at Aston Villa
  • Liverpool want to find a solution for Elliott

TEAMtalk reports that Fulham are monitoring the situation of Harvey Elliott closely as the 22-year-old’s loan spell with Aston Villa becomes increasingly uncertain.

The Liverpool midfielder moved to Villa Park in the summer in search of regular minutes, but has struggled to make an impression under manager Unai Emery, sparking talk of his loan spell being cut short.

Elliott joined Aston Villa at the start of the season with the aim of securing consistent minutes ahead of the 2026 World Cup, believing Emery’s dynamic attacking system would complement his strengths.

However, the reality was much more difficult. Despite Villa needing creative depth, Elliott has found his opportunities limited.

His appearances have been sporadic, and he has struggled to find a rhythm or influence games like he did during his time at Liverpool.

As a result, Elliott and his agent are exploring alternative options for the remainder of the season.

Fulham have emerged as likely candidates as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the campaign.

The Cottages are considering a short-term deal that would take the young midfielder to Craven Cottage until the end of the season and provide him with a new platform to rediscover form and confidence.

Elliott’s situation also reflects his wider struggles for game time at Arne Slott’s Liverpool.

The Dutch manager made it clear that Elliott would not be a regular starter in the short term and urged him to seek a loan move elsewhere.

This decision was aimed at accelerating his development, but his tenure at Aston Villa has not progressed as expected.

However, Fulham could be a more natural fit. Under coach Marco Silva, the club has embraced talented young players and given them the opportunity to play expressive, possession-based football.

With the January transfer window nearing its final stages, a decision on Elliott’s departure is expected to be made soon.

Villa are prepared to terminate his loan if a suitable destination is found, Liverpool are monitoring developments closely and Fulham are prepared to act quickly if the opportunity arises.
