UFC Hall of Famer Makes Triumphant Comeback Announcement for UFC 327 After 13-Month Hiatus

The popular brawler is set to step back into the UFC cage once again in Miami.

The UFC’s lineup for the second quarter of 2026 is gradually taking shape. With only a single undisputed title fight scheduled in the first three months of the year, fans are eager to see high-profile matchups unfold during the rest of the calendar.

Following Charles Oliveira’s battle against Max Holloway for the BMF title at UFC 326 in Las Vegas, the promotion will head to Miami — often called “The Magic City” — for a headline numbered event on Paramount+ in April.

So far, four fights have been announced for UFC 327, featuring the return of former title contenders Dominick Reyes, Paulo Costa, and Tatiana Suarez. Now, a UFC Hall of Famer appears to be joining the card.

Several intriguing storylines are shaping up for the Miami card. Paulo Costa, after failing to re-enter the middleweight title conversation, will move up to light heavyweight to fight the unbeaten Azamat Murzakhanov. Tatiana Suarez is making her comeback following a title bid loss, and a heated clash between Dominick Reyes and Johnny Walker is expected to deliver fireworks.

While fans wait to hear about the main event and title bouts for UFC 327, it seems crowd favorite Cub Swanson has locked in a spot on the April 11 card. Swanson, a UFC Hall of Famer since 2022, last competed in December 2024 at UFC Fight Night in Tampa, where he secured a knockout win over Billy Quarantillo on a card headlined by Colby Covington’s tough loss to Joaquin Buckley.

Thirteen months after that victory, Swanson recently announced his return for UFC 327 via social media, though he hasn’t yet confirmed his opponent at the Kaseya Center. “It’s official,” he declared in his post.

At 42 years old, Swanson looks to break a six-year drought without a winning streak. Despite impressive wins over Kron Gracie and Daniel Pineda (the latter at UFC 256), he has suffered losses to fighters like Giga Chikadze, Jonathan Martinez, and Andre Fili since 2020. Now, benefitting from an increased Fight of the Night bonus — raised to $100,000 — Swanson aims to string together consecutive victories once again.

Fan Take: Cub Swanson’s return injects excitement and nostalgia into the UFC 327 lineup, reminding fans of his tenacity and legendary status. If he can find momentum and build a winning streak, it could set the stage for compelling matchups that blend veteran skill with rising talent, enriching the sport’s depth and drama.
