The West Coast Swing is making progress as 147 players travel to one of the most beautiful golf courses on the PGA Tour schedule. Both the North and South courses will draw golfers to Torrey Pines for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open. Ten of the top 20 players in the Official World Golf Ranking will compete for the third title of the young season.

The only name not in the top 20 is probably the biggest name this week: Brooks Koepka. The 35-year-old, who will be making his first PGA Tour start since the 2022 WGC vs. Dell Technologies Match Play, returns to the league after four seasons with LIV Golf.

Newly created tour allows return to PGA Tour Return member programKoepka has to play the full PGA Tour schedule while also keeping an eye on the marquee events. As such, the five-time major champion will be an integral part of these full-field tournaments. Not only will he return to the PGA Tour this week at Torrey Pines, but he has already committed to next week’s WM Phoenix Open and Cognizant Classic.

Koepka’s addition to the field also means two additional spots have been added to complete the 3-pointer.

Koepka appears to be returning to a normal playing schedule, but players like Xander Schauffele and Cameron Young will also be making their season debuts. In 2025, the two went in opposite directions as Schauffele missed out on the Tour Championship for the first time in his career and Young picked up his first career win at the Wyndham Championship.

Both players are the stars of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, which will look to accelerate into the new year alongside reigning champion Harris English, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley and teammate JJ Spaun, as well as Europeans such as Justin Rose and Ludwig Oberg, and Sony Open winner Chris Gotterup.

2026 Farmers Insurance Open Field, Odds

Odds from DraftKings Sportsbook

  • Xander Schauffele (15-1)
  • Ludwig Oberg (17-1): The young Swede led the Farmers Insurance Open for much of the tournament last season before falling ill over the weekend and winning an impressive acquittal at Torrey Pines. He got his revenge a few weeks later by winning the Genesis Invitational at the same golf course. Oberg was forced to withdraw from American Express last week due to illness, but appears to be embracing the challenge of returning to competition on a golf course where he is confident his play will yield results.
  • Cameron Young: (18-1): Many are expecting a big season from Young, but aside from a performance at the Genesis Invitational a few seasons ago, the West Coast swing has never been in his favor. He entered this year as a PGA Tour winner and Ryder Cup darling, having the best putting season of his career. Young has regained comfortable shooting shape and has the power to make good plays at Torrey Pines, which faces some of the thickest rough and thinnest fairway players all season.
  • Patrick Cantlay (23-1)
  • Similarly Siri (24-1): Kim might be the best ball striker in the world outside of Scottie Scheffler. The four-time PGA Tour champion, the American Express 54-hole leader, was completely defeated in the middle of the round and was ultimately overtaken by the world No. 1 player. Still, this result is important for his second consecutive quality outing to start the season, as he looks to move his game to a bigger, braver test at Torrey Pines. He has two top-25 finishes in his past three starts, but has never finished inside the top-10 in eight career starts.
  • JJ Spahn (25-1)
  • Chris Gotterup (29-1): He continues to show that he can stand tall even when the wind starts to blow and creativity and shot formation are required. Gotterup picked up his third win of his PGA Tour career in as many seasons at the Sony Open, and should be thrilled with his challenge at Torrey Pines, where he finished inside the top 25 in his only previous outing. A right-hander with plenty of power and finesse, he has the qualities to maintain momentum on the mainland.
  • Hideki Matsuyama (29-1): He made nine straight cuts at Torrey Pines, finished T13 at the Sony Open, went wild with his iron play and struggled with his putter. This was Matsuyama’s typical play. Putting from inside 15 feet and inside 5 feet are some of the toughest on the PGA Tour this week, so this could level the playing field slightly and play into his hands. His iron play remains elite and the scrambler has performed well this tournament, another feather in Matsuyama’s cap.
  • Maverick McNeely (31-1)
  • Jason Day (31-1)
  • Harris English (31-1)
