Today’s Top NHL Player Props and Best Bets for January 28th: Owen the Moment Takes Center Stage

On Wednesday, January 28th, there will be only three NHL games on the schedule, and I’ve prepared player prop bets for each matchup. These bets center around a promising game featuring the Philadelphia Flyers’ winger Owen Tippett against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Today’s Top NHL Player Prop Bets:

PlayerBetOdds
Owen TippettOver 2.5 shots on goal-115
Vladislav GavrikovOver 1.5 shots on goal-105
Victor OlofssonAt least 0.5 points-125

(An ad promoting a $800 bonus on first bets with BET99, which excludes Ontario residents, is also featured.)

Analysis for Wednesday, January 28th:

1. Owen Tippett – Over 2.5 Shots on Goal:
The Blue Jackets have given up the second-highest number of shots per game (30.7). Tippett has been aggressive lately, recording three or more shots in 11 of 15 games during the holiday period, with a total of 48 shots on 95 attempts. His average shots per 60 minutes and shot attempts per 60 minutes rank high in the league recently, and he’s a key player on the power play with a strong Corsi-for percentage.

2. Vladislav Gavrikov – Over 1.5 Shots on Goal:
Gavrikov has been logging over 25 minutes of ice time per game, including about 3 minutes on the power play, and has put two or more shots on goal in seven of his last ten matches. The Islanders, his upcoming opponents, rank in the middle for shot attempts but lower in shot efficiency, providing a decent opportunity for Gavrikov to capitalize.

3. Victor Olofsson – At Least 0.5 Points:
Olofsson has been skating on Colorado’s top line with Nathan MacKinnon, averaging over 55 minutes of ice time in recent games. The Avalanche are also shooting below expected levels, suggesting a potential offensive correction. Olofsson is on the top power play unit, and the Senators’ weak penalty kill could boost his chances of contributing at least a point.

Fan Take: These player props highlight some of the more exciting matchups of the night, giving fans insight into players who are trending and could deliver offensive value. For avid hockey fans, these bets could deepen engagement with the game and provide an extra layer of excitement as they wager on the players’ performances rather than just the teams.
