Gervonta “Tank” Davis Taken Into Custody Facing Assault and Attempted Kidnapping Charges

Miami Gardens police reported on Wednesday evening via social media that Gervonta “Tank” Davis was taken into custody on charges including assault, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping. The arrest followed a warrant issued on January 14 related to a domestic violence incident from the previous October. The Miami Gardens Police Department emphasized their dedication to protecting victims, holding offenders accountable, and maintaining community safety.

Authorities collaborated with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to find Davis, who was apprehended peacefully in the Miami Design District. This development led to the cancellation of an exhibition match between Davis and Jake Paul, which was initially set for November 14, 2025, following a domestic violence lawsuit filed by Davis’s ex-partner and mother of his children, Courtney Rossell.

According to the complaint, Davis allegedly assaulted Rossell at a gentlemen’s club in Miami Gardens on October 27, with police corroborating her claims through surveillance video. MGPD Executive Officer Emmanuel Jeanty stated during a press briefing that Davis used force to restrain Rossell against her will in an attempt to remove her from the location.

This marks the seventh time Davis has been detained since 2017. A prior domestic violence case against him was dismissed in August 2025 after the accuser declined to pursue charges. Additionally, Davis served 90 days under house arrest and three years probation for a 2023 hit-and-run incident in Baltimore.
