Rangers could give him the green light to leave in January as potential deal opens door

  • Rangers give green light for Danilo to leave when Ibrox door opens for substitution
        • Borussia Dortmund are plotting to sign Rangers star who could leave alongside Chelmiti

Rangers could give the green light for one player to leave in a last-minute deal in January, but only on one condition.

Late this month, the Gers emerged as an unlikely resistance fighter, rejecting a lucrative offer for a key offensive line, and their pursuit of reinforcements hit a roadblock.

According to reports this week, Danny Rohr’s side received a shock offer of £13 million from Turkish giants Fenerbahce for striker Youssef Cermiti, but Ibrox bosses immediately rejected the offer.

Monaco also made a loan-to-buy offer of £10m for winger Jady Gassama, but this was also rejected, demonstrating Rangers’ determination to maintain their attacking power despite receiving offers worth a total of £23m.

Celmiti’s resurgence under Rolle was highlighted by his winning double in the Old Firm win in January, and he appears to be at the heart of Rangers’ strong stance.

Fenerbahce are reportedly still interested and could come back with an improved offer of £18m, but the approaching deadline complicates timing.

Rangers beat deadline and prepare for major upgrade deal for Celmitie

Rangers are reportedly interested in a striker who could be a significant upgrade to Youssef Cermiti.

Earlier this month, Rangers completed three signings announced by manager Rolle before they beat Annan Athletic 5-0 in the Scottish Cup.

Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen, Danish midfielder Tochi Chukwani and Belgian left-back Tour Romans Alla have arrived in Glasgow from Wolfsburg, and Rohr’s ambitions extend beyond this trio.

Rangers’ hunt for a striker suffered a setback after manager Hansa Rostock rejected a £2.6m offer for German third division forward Ryan Naderi, but reports suggest the 22-year-old is keen on a move and remains their top target.

Much of the news will be about Naderi heading into deadline day, but journalist Pete O’Rourke has now suggested that the striker’s arrival could facilitate Danilo’s departure.

Rangers give green light for Danilo to leave when Ibrox door opens for substitution

According to O’Rourke and Football Insider, Rangers are willing to give the green light for Danilo to leave before Monday’s transfer deadline, but only if Rolle is successful in signing another striker to strengthen his attacking options.

The Brazilian has fallen down the pecking order at Ibrox and has not started a Premiership game since early December, watching Youssef Cermiti and Bojan Miovski establish themselves before him.

Despite scoring in stoppage time against Dundee last weekend, Danilo’s peripheral role suggests his tenure in Glasgow is nearing an end.

Rohr’s willingness to let the former Feyenoord forward go depends entirely on the success of the reinforcement.

Rangers are still in negotiations with Rostock over Naderi, who terrorized Germany’s third tier this season with eight goals and four assists in just 17 appearances.

If Naderi were to join, it could spell the end for the 26-year-old. Naderi has not fully justified the £6m price tag he signed from Feyenoord in 2023.

Danilo has scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists in 76 games for Gers, and Naderi’s arrival will mark the end of his time in Scotland.
