Diogo Moreira, the reigning Moto2 World Champion, will compete in the 2026 MotoGP World Championship sporting the fresh “Pro Honda” LCR team livery. Honda’s official oil brand has now become Moreira’s main sponsor after Idemitsu, former backers of past LCR riders Takaaki Nakagami and Somkiat Chantra, withdrew their support.

Previously, the Pro Honda logo appeared on the fairings of HRC’s factory test team during wildcard MotoGP entries. Moreira expressed his approval of the new colors, noting how well they complement his signature yellow. He also shared confidence in his preparation for the upcoming season, mentioning his winter training alongside Marc and Alex Marquez.

He added, “The shakedown went very well. We achieved great results during the three days, but there’s still work to do to fully understand the limits of this new bike.”

Moreira, who appeared in black livery at the recent Sepang shakedown, is set to debut the full Pro Honda design in the official preseason test from February 3rd to 5th. The 21-year-old Brazilian, who clinched the Moto2 title in only his second year, impressively finished sixth on the final day of the shakedown. Although he was about a second behind HRC’s lead test rider Aleix Espargaro, Moreira outpaced fellow rookie and current World Superbike Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu, who rides for Pramac Yamaha.

Starting a multi-year deal with HRC, Moreira will, unlike his predecessor Chantra, share the garage with Johann Zarco and receive a factory-spec RC213V bike. To add excitement, he will compete in front of his home crowd as Brazil returns to the MotoGP calendar, hosting the second race of the season. “The Brazilian Grand Prix will be amazing with all my family and friends there!” Moreira exclaimed.

This announcement of the Pro Honda livery came shortly after LCR revealed Zarco’s latest Castrol-sponsored design.

Fan Take: This news is thrilling for MotoGP enthusiasts as it marks the rise of a young talent backed by strong factory support, potentially shaking up the championship dynamics. Moreira’s presence will bring fresh energy and heightened attention to the sport, especially with the Brazilian Grand Prix making a comeback, increasing global fan engagement.
