2025 Man TT Island: Significant Schedule Shift as Tuesday’s Race Faces Cancellation

On Man TT Island in 2025, Tuesday’s racing schedule was heavily disrupted due to unfavorable course conditions. Following a week of weather-related interruptions during qualifying, race activities finally resumed on Monday, June 2nd. Although three races were held that day, all were shortened because of an incoming weather front starting at 5 pm local time.

The day’s action kicked off with the superbike race, run over four laps, where Davey Tod emerged victorious over Michael Dunlop, securing his third TT win. The sidecar race was cut to two laps instead of three, with Ryan and Callum Crow claiming their third TT win and setting a new class lap record at 121.021 mph. Monday concluded with the Supersports race, seeing Michael Dunlop celebrate his 30th TT victory and Ducati’s first win since 1995.

Racing was set to continue on Tuesday, June 3rd, featuring a three-lap Superstock race at 10:45 am and a three-lap Super Twin race at 2 pm. However, overnight rain and wind left the track unsafe by the original start times. A one-lap Superstock warm-up was run late in the morning, but riders reported the course was still too dangerous, with Connor Cummins, Nathan Harrison, and Dom Herbertson retiring during the lap.

The organizers then planned a three-lap Super Twin race at 2:30 pm, but a 30-minute delay due to a rain shower led to the race’s cancellation. There is hope that improved weather in the evening will allow both races to proceed, with emergency road closures permitting races from 6 pm to 9:30 pm. Both races have been shortened to two laps, with Superstock at 6:30 pm and Super Twin at 7:45 pm. A sidecar shakedown lap took place at 1 pm.

Racing is set to continue through Wednesday with the second sidecar and Supersport races. Thursday is reserved as an emergency day, while Friday and Saturday will host the final Superstock and Super Twin contests, culminating in the Senior TT Finale.

Fan Take: The weather disruptions highlight the unpredictable nature of the Man TT, testing riders’ resilience and adaptability. For racing fans, these challenges add an extra layer of drama and emphasize the sport’s demand for precision and endurance under changing conditions, keeping every race day intense and unpredictable.
