Inter Miami has signed Mexican international Germán Bertelame from CF Monterrey, enhancing their attack for the upcoming 2026 season. The 27-year-old will reunite with Lionel Messi in a transaction valued at approximately $15 million, having impressed with his previous performances in Liga MX.

Bertelame’s transfer was finalized after Monterrey announced his contract termination, which was originally set to extend until December 2027. This agreement was the result of prolonged talks between the two teams.
Deal endorsed by Mascherano

Inter Miami’s head coach, Javier Mascherano, was instrumental in securing this deal to bolster the team’s scoring capability alongside Messi. Bertelame has previously made a notable impact in a CONCACAF Champions Cup match against Inter Miami, earning MVP honors and piquing the interest of MLS clubs.
