  • Holloway Feels “Better Than Ever” Ahead of His Rematch with Oliveira
  • Could Holloway Get a Chance at the Undisputed Lightweight Title?

Max Holloway is entering the next chapter of his 14-year MMA career feeling stronger and healthier than ever as he prepares to defend his BMF title at UFC 326.

On March 7th, the UFC returns to Las Vegas, with the main event featuring the highly anticipated BMF title clash between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira.

The two fighters, nicknamed “Blessed” and “De Bronx,” first faced each other in the Octagon back in 2015. Holloway secured the victory in what was Oliveira’s debut as a main event fighter, though the fight concluded somewhat anticlimactically, leading some fans to criticize Oliveira’s effort.

While opinions on the BMF title are divided among MMA enthusiasts, there’s no doubt that Holloway and Oliveira are two of the most deserving athletes to compete for this legendary belt.

Holloway Feels “Better Than Ever” Ahead of His Rematch with Oliveira

Despite having long careers in the UFC—14 years for Holloway and 16 for Oliveira—both remain at the peak of their abilities.

In spite of achieving nearly everything possible in MMA, “Blessed” proclaimed before the March 7 fight that he’s in the best shape of his career.

“I feel great. There’s a lot of science behind this. Transparent Labs supports me with supplements, I’m sleeping well, and I’m focused on recovery. This is honestly the best I’ve ever felt,” Holloway shared in a recent YouTube video.

He added that previously, in his youth, he would push through without proper recovery but now approaches his body with more care and wisdom, understanding the importance of rest and nutrition.

Having joined the UFC at just 20 years old, Holloway admits he initially didn’t fully comprehend how to take care of himself as a professional fighter.

“Back then, I could bounce back without much care, but now I realize how important sleep and vitamins are. My brother and I used to eat whatever—McDonald’s, Taco Bell—but now we maintain a healthier diet, even if we cheat occasionally. I’ve learned a lot over the years,” he explained.

Could Holloway Get a Chance at the Undisputed Lightweight Title?

The lightweight division is currently in an unusual spot, with reigning undisputed champion Ilya Topuria contemplating a move to a higher weight class.

Before making that transition, Topuria has to unify the titles against interim champ Justin Gaethje.

If Topuria maintains his undefeated UFC record and ascends in weight, the lightweight title could become vacant once again, potentially opening the door for Holloway to contend for the undisputed championship.

Fan Take: This upcoming fight is crucial as it not only showcases two elite lightweight warriors but may also reshape the division’s landscape. Holloway’s peak form and Oliveira’s relentless drive promise a thrilling battle that could set the tone for future title dynamics in the UFC.
