Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali could leave the club at the end of the season.
According to a report from Fichajes, Arsenal had hoped to sign the player in January, but that was not possible. The player is likely to attract attention from top clubs again this summer. Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring his situation closely and could consider signing the Italian.
Sandro Tonali’s asking price revealed
The midfielder is reportedly worth €90 million and it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid decide to sign him. They could use a reliable defensive midfielder and the Italian would be a great addition. He has shown his quality in the Premier League and could do well in La Liga as well.
Arsenal and Real Madrid could both be exciting destinations for the player. He won the English League Cup with Newcastle and now wants to win big trophies. Newcastle are not at the level required to win the league or the UEFA Champions League. Real Madrid or Arsenal could offer him that platform.
Tonali seeking an exit
The Times report also confirmed that the player is considering a move in the summer. The player’s agent has indicated that a summer move is being considered.
The 25-year-old is an essential asset for Newcastle and his departure would be a huge blow to Newcastle. But you can’t hope to keep top players at a club if you can’t compete regularly for major trophies. They will have to reluctantly let the player move on.
90 million euros is a lot of money and they should be able to find a quality replacement.
