The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has revealed the finalists set for induction this summer, covering various categories including North American, Women’s, Men’s Veterans, Women’s Veterans, International, and Contributors. The official announcement of the new class will take place on Saturday, April 4th at noon during Final Four weekend and be broadcast on ESPN2. Jerry Colangelo, president of the Hall of Fame, emphasized that this year’s nominees represent a wide range of basketball impact—from professional and collegiate levels to high school, international competition, officiating, and innovation—highlighting their enduring influence on the game’s evolution and cultural significance worldwide.

The 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, August 15th at the historic Symphony Hall in Springfield, Massachusetts. Highlights from the North American Committee finalists include referee Joey Crawford, who officiated 50 NBA Finals games, coach Mark Few of Gonzaga, six-time All-Star player Blake Griffin, and versatile scorer Amar’e Stoudemire. Women’s finalists feature members of the dominant 1996 U.S. Women’s National Team and WNBA stars like Elena Delle Donne and Candace Parker. Veterans and contributors also boast notable figures such as “Machine Gun Molly” Bolin-Kazmer, innovative coach Mike D’Antoni, and international legend Dusan Ivkovic. These finalists collectively showcase remarkable achievements that have shaped basketball at every level.

Fan Take: This announcement excites basketball enthusiasts as it honors legends whose influence extends beyond the court, reflecting the game’s rich history and diverse talent. Celebrating these figures not only preserves basketball’s legacy but also inspires future generations to reach new heights in the sport.
