The Danish tactician underperformed and underperformed during his eight-month reign at Spurs and was ultimately sacked by the club today.

What’s more, behind the scenes Frank doesn’t seem to be well-liked by Tottenham players, with memes being shared trolling him about his love for Arsenal.

The Telegraph quoted a source as saying: “He was constantly talking to the players about Arsenal and they quickly got tired of it. Even before and after the game at the Emirates, he was telling the players how good Arsenal were. The feeling among some was just, ‘Shut up about Arsenal.'”

It’s clear that things haven’t gone well for Spurs under Frank, but it’s also not clear where the club could or should go next.

Despite winning the Europa League final and playing ambitious, attacking-minded football, the North London Giants parted ways with Ange Postecoglou in the summer.

Frank came in with a completely different style, which didn’t work as well. It remains to be seen who is ready to join now that the club could be embroiled in a serious relegation battle.

That would likely mean hiring an interim manager with an eye toward the remainder of the season, but it remains to be seen whether there will be any other decent candidates in the summer.

Tottenham make statement on Thomas Frank

Following rumors that Mr. Frank had been fired earlier this morning, THFC subsequently released the following statement to confirm the news.

The club has taken the decision to change the position of men’s head coach, with Thomas Frank retiring today. Mr. Thomas was appointed in June 2025 and we are determined to give him the time and support he needs to build our future together.

However, the results and performances led the board to conclude that changes were necessary at this point in the season. Throughout his time at the club, Thomas has acted with unwavering commitment and done everything he can to move the club forward.

We thank him for his contribution and wish him continued success.
