2026–27 NFL MVP Odds

– Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo — +550
What to know: Allen collected 27 first-place votes in 2024 and finished third in last season’s MVP voting with two first-place votes. In his strong 2024 campaign he threw for 3,731 yards with 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

– Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens — +650
What to know: Jackson was the unanimous MVP in 2019 and again dominated voting in a later season, taking 49 of 50 first-place votes in 2023. He remains one of the few players (alongside Tom Brady in 2010) to win the award unanimously.

– Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs — +1000
What to know: Mahomes won the MVP in 2018 and again in 2022. In 2018 he garnered 41 first-place votes (nine went to Drew Brees) and threw 50 touchdown passes that year. In 2022 he received 48 first-place votes, with other voters splitting the remainder.

– Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers — +1000
What to know: Herbert landed one first-place vote in the most recent MVP ballot and finished sixth. The race that year was extremely tight — Matthew Stafford led with 24 first-place votes and Drake Maye had 23.

– Joe Burrow, QB, Bengals — +1000
What to know: Despite his talent, Burrow has never received a first-place MVP vote, partly because injuries have cost him significant playing time; he’s missed six or more games in three of his six pro seasons. He placed fourth in MVP voting in 2022 and 2024.

– Drake Maye, QB, Patriots — +1000
What to know: Maye nearly captured the award last season, finishing a hair behind Stafford. Critics argued that New England’s regular-season schedule and Maye’s postseason matchups complicate the MVP debate, but his regular-season totals were impressive: 4,394 passing yards and 31 touchdowns.

– Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys — +1300
What to know: Prescott is frequently mentioned in MVP conversations. His closest finish came in 2023, when he placed second to Lamar Jackson but did not receive any first-place votes.

– Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams — +1400
What to know: Stafford is the defending MVP. He led the league last season with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdown passes — the most in the NFL — and captured his first MVP in his 17th NFL season.

Fan take: These odds and player storylines matter because the MVP race highlights which quarterbacks are driving team success and shaping the league’s biggest narratives. Close, controversial voting — like last season’s — can shift conversations about player value, contract leverage, and how teams build around elite quarterbacks.
