Bayer Leverkusen has made a deal to sign Aleksa Damjanovic from Red Star Belgrade, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The 17-year-old striker will depart from the Serbian club, champions of the 1991 European Cup, and will join the Bundesliga team once the season concludes.

Damjanovic emerged from the Red Star Academy and has made seven league appearances and two cup appearances for the senior team, netting his first goal in a 2-0 victory against FK TSC in the cup. During his time with the U-17 squad, he scored an impressive 39 goals in 47 competitive matches and has played for Serbia at various youth levels, from U-15 to U-19.

Leverkusen views Damjanovic as a key addition to their youthful roster, paying an initial fee of €5 million, which could increase to €8 million based on performance, alongside a sell-on clause for Red Star. The agreement is set to take effect in June 2026.

This signing is significant for soccer fans, as it signals Bayer Leverkusen’s commitment to developing young talent, which could lead to a revitalized and competitive squad in the coming years. Fans should keep a keen eye on Damjanovic, whose potential could shape the future of both his club and Serbian football on the international stage.
