Charlie Cresswell would be a solid addition.

He has proven his quality in Ligue 1 and has the physical and technical attributes to work well in English football. He has been constantly linked with Premier League clubs in recent months. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can win the race for his signature.

Ibrahima Konate will be a free agent at the end of the season, so Liverpool will need to fill his void. They have been keeping an eye on Cresswell in recent months.

Similarly, Chelsea need to add depth to their defense. They are targeting the release of players such as Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile. Cresswell could prove to be a great addition and upgrade to some of the current options. The opportunity to join the London club could be very exciting for the young defender. It would be a big step in his career and he would be playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Meanwhile, Cristian Romero has been linked with a move from Tottenham. They’ll need to replace him properly and it’s no wonder they’re eyeing the 23-year-old. It will be interesting to see if they can beat Liverpool and Chelsea for his signature.

Young defenders should aim to join a club where they can play as a key player. He wouldn’t want to sit on the bench of a big club. A club wishing to sign him may need to offer him guaranteed game time.
