Arsenal have completed a reconnaissance mission to their attacking targets as Andrea Berta continues to plan his summer raids.
Declan Rice ‘excited’ about ‘fantastic’ FA Cup
Some people in north London will be relieved to see this weekend’s FA Cup. The stress of competing for the Premier League title is certainly not for the faint of heart.
It looked like Arsenal had a chance to take a nine-point lead on Thursday night, but Erling Haaland’s late penalty put the Gunners under pressure again.
It was also pressure for Brentford to make sure they felt as much as possible. The Bees were one of the toughest home teams to face in the Premier League under manager Keith Andrews and could have taken all three points against the champions-elect before settling for a come-from-behind draw.
With four points adrift at the top of the table, Arsenal now have to turn their focus to Sunday’s FA Cup match against Wigan Athletic. Declan Rice spoke of his excitement before the match in a tournament where he is also one of the favorites to win.
The midfielder told reporters: “We play in different competitions every three days, so we are very used to it.
“We will reflect on the game (against Brentford), take the positives, what we learned, what we need to improve on and come back on Sunday with full energy and batteries to win the game.
Arsenal expected to make £40m bid for ‘world class’ star, Arteta a big fan
The Gunners have their sights set on a midfielder.
“We’ve tried to make sure everyone has an important role in what we’re doing in different competitions and Sunday will be no different.
“The history we have in the FA Cup is amazing. We’re playing at home and we’re really excited to recover and get back out there.”
Meanwhile, there are reasons to be excited off the pitch as well. Arsenal are said to be interested in the Bundesliga attacker, with Leon Goretka and others already mentioned in reports.
Arsenal are constantly scouting Antonio Nusa
As reported by German outlets Fussball Daten and TeamTalk, Arsenal are currently continuing to scout Antonio Nusa as Berta continues to plan a summer move to sign the RB Leipzig winger.
The Gunners have plenty of talent on the left, including Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, but Thursday’s draw against Brentford highlighted that further attacking spark is not lost.
At just 20 years old, Nusa is already a full international player alongside Norwegian teammate Malin Ødegaard and has already received much praise from across Europe.
That includes talent scout Jacek Kulig, who called the Leipzig man a “great winger” in October. At this point, Arsenal will be well aware of how talented he is, but Nusa’s price could still be an issue.
According to reports in Germany, his price could rise to 90 million euros (about 7.8 billion yen) if he enjoys a great World Cup with Norway this summer.
