We reported earlier this week that Delap’s future at Chelsea was in serious doubt, with Manchester United understood to be one of his suitors.
Everton were also one of the clubs mentioned to us, and this has been further confirmed by a report from Football Insider linking the Toffees with Delap.
Delap’s time at Stamford Bridge may be short-lived as the 23-year-old has failed to make an impact for the Blues, scoring just three goals in 30 games in all competitions since joining.
Liam Delap’s transfer looks like a failure for Chelsea
Last summer, Chelsea loaned out Nicholas Jackson to Bayern Munich due to his poor form, and signed two new strikers in Delap and Joao Pedro.
While Pedro has performed pretty well so far, it’s safe to say that Delap has looked a real disappointment, so it’s probably no surprise that CFC will be eyeing the position again this summer.
Delap may have looked like a great player at former club Ipswich Town, but this big move appears to have come too early for him and Chelsea definitely need to aim higher.

Can Liam Delap revive his Premier League career?
Still, a move to a club like Everton could be ideal for Delap to get his career back on track. Because he will definitely play there regularly and he won’t be under the same scrutiny as he is at Chelsea.
Interest from Man United could also be interesting. We understand that the Red Devils valued the England Under-21 international very highly when they tried to sign him from Ipswich last summer.
Delap may have failed at Chelsea, but it still might not be his last chance at a big six club.
