Liverpool have been linked with a surprise move for Leeds United defender Xhaka Bihor.

The 27-year-old has performed very well since joining Leeds at the start of the season and has attracted the attention of several Premier League clubs. According to Football Insider, Liverpool could make a move to sign him following the departure of Ibrahima Konate.

Will Xhaka Bujol replace Konate?

The France international’s contract expires at the end of this season, but he has yet to sign an extension with the Premier League champions. Liverpool will need to have a suitable replacement in place for him, but it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to sign the 27-year-old Leeds star.

The opportunity to join Liverpool will be an exciting one for him. It will be a big step up in his career and will test him at the highest level. He will also aim to fight for major trophies with the Premier League champions. He has been hailed as a “top, top centre-half”.

Bijol is at the peak of his career and now might be the right time for him to take on a new challenge. It will be interesting to see if Leeds are prepared to let him leave. He is an important player for them and his departure will be a big blow.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have had a disappointing season and there is no guarantee they will qualify for next season’s Champions League. They aim to bounce back strongly next season and need to fill in the gaps in the team. Adding depth to their defensive unit should be a priority for them.

Signing a 27-year-old might be a smart move. He is firmly established in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact.
