New York Golf Club had a rough Tuesday.

The second doubleheader of the week was held on Tuesday, and New York was the team making the doubleheader. They lost their first match to The Bay Golf Club, but were thoroughly dealt with by Boston Common Golf in their second match.

Here are the standings for each team heading into the match (Boston Common Golf, New York Golf Club):

triple

  • Hole 1 (Cut the Sails): New York starts with a win after losing the first game

  • Hole 2 (Bonnie Link): Boston was denied a hammer but quickly fought back.

  • Hole 3 (last toll): Tie

  • Hole 5 (Craig On): This was quick work, as New York won on a tough tee shot from Hideki Matsuyama. New York even threw the hammer and refused.

  • Hole 6 (Loot On The Line): Boston was able to raise the level again, but

  • Hole 7 (Cenote): And they took the lead.

  • Hole 8 (Bluebonnet): They just kept rolling.

  • Hole 9 (Big Apple): I had my foot fully on the gas, but New York’s penalty stroke was the main reason here.

single

  • Hole 10 (The Spear): Another victory for Boston!

  • Hole 11 (straight up): New York starts with a hammer throw, but the hole ends in a tie.

  • Hole 12 (Set in Stone): Boston throws the hammer this time, but it’s a tie again.

  • 13th Hole (Stinger): New York throws a hammer at the start, but it backfires and Boston wins.

  • Hole 14 (Cliffhanger): Tie again

  • 15th Hole (Caverns): Boston wins, tying franchise record with 9 points

Although the TGL is still in its infancy as a league, Boston did not win a single game in 2025, finishing this year in first place overall in the league. It’s a fun story to say the least.

Only time will tell what the rest of the TGL season has in store for each player, but it’s likely the Frogs will hoist the trophy at the end.
