Bayern’s risky strategy revealed, Liverpool and City aware of interest in Michael Olise

Bayern Munich are aware of interest in moving Michael Olise from Liverpool and Manchester City, according to CF Bayern Insider Christian Falk.

As Falk pointed out in his latest column, Olise is currently under contract with Bayern until 2029, meaning it would not necessarily be a desperate situation for the club to give him a new contract.

But at the same time, the German journalist suggested that this could be a dangerous game for Bayern, who had to scramble in the closing stages to sign Dayot Upamecano to a new contract.

Bayern may risk not resolving the matter sooner, as it is certain that clubs like Liverpool and Man City will continue to monitor Olise’s situation and perhaps be ready to offer better terms.

Michael Olise shares insights from Bayern Insider’s Christian Falk

Falk confirmed Oliseh’s links with Liverpool and City and gave Bayern something of a warning regarding the Frenchman’s situation.

“Michael Olise’s contract currently runs until 2029 and Bayern Munich would like to sign him to a new contract until 2031. However, this will take time. Olise has three years left on his current contract and Bayern have time,” Falk wrote.

“But of course we hear that Liverpool are interested and Manchester City are eyeing the player. But they also have to think about contract negotiations for Conrad Reimer, negotiations for Harry Kane… It’s a complicated situation. What happens if you sign a player until 2031 and then another player says, ‘Hey, I want a longer contract’?”

“It’s a bit of a dangerous game. The longer we wait, the more we encourage other clubs to pick up the phone and call players. Michael Oliseh is not one of the top earners at the moment (earning around 15 million euros), Jamal Musiala and Harry Kane probably earn around 10 million euros more.”

“Bayern can always give the right-winger more money, but the longer they wait, the more complicated the situation becomes. Bayern don’t want another Upamecano incident. No one wants that!”
