Everton are currently in contention to sign the former Real Madrid defender against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, and could have an advantage thanks to Adam Asnou.

Moyes: ‘Unbelievable’ Praises Arteta

For David Moyes, it will feel like yesterday that he was Mikel Arteta’s manager. Now, more than 20 years later, the Spaniard is at the helm of Arsenal on their way to title glory, and will welcome his former manager in the process.

Moyes couldn’t help but praise his former player for his role in the build-up, claiming the Arsenal manager has “evolved” enough to become a potential Premier League winner.

He is scheduled to become a free agent this summer.

“What’s wrong with your statement? You’re saying it as if that’s the problem because they’re good at set-pieces. They’re a strong, physical team and I don’t think that’s the problem. It’s part of the game.”

“There’s this idea in the world that everyone has to play a beautiful game and everything has to be perfect. Well, if everyone did that, it would be boring. We’ve had some incredibly good managers, Mikel being one of them, who came to this country and showed us what they can do.”

“Maybe they can’t keep it up and keep going all the time. Mikel has been able to evolve the team and move it forward.”

Meanwhile, the Gunners are on the road to glory, but it hasn’t been a disappointing season for Everton either. The Toffees are still in the race to secure European football, which could open the door to even greater possibilities this summer.

By reaching the European stage, those at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will have a far greater chance of luring the likes of Harry Wilson to Merseyside alongside Serie A talent.

Everton are in a race with Atletico Madrid to sign Mario Gira

As reported by Tuttosport, Everton are currently competing with Atletico Madrid to sign Mario Gira. The central defender has impressed during his time at Lazio, which was always to be expected considering he comes from Real Madrid’s youth ranks.

He is currently 25 years old and at the peak of his abilities, so a summer move could be considered. In theory, it would be easy to assume that Atletico Madrid have the advantage in this regard, but Everton could also have the advantage due to the fact that Gila’s agent is the same agent as Azunou.

It’s easy to see why Everton are interested. Considering the balance of numbers, Gila would be the perfect partner for James Tarkowski.

While Gila sweeps and wins the ball back, Tarkowski often moves forward and wins the duel. Where the former struggles, the latter thrives.

The teenage midfielder has been linked with a number of clubs.

The 25-year-old Spaniard could also replace the 33-year-old Everton player at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the coming years. But first and foremost, the Toffees must fend off interest from Atletico Madrid.
