The PGA Tour’s flagship event has arrived with 123 players originally scheduled to compete over 72 holes of the 2026 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Aiming to take home one of golf’s biggest titles, the world’s best players compete for one of the game’s greatest prizes. Follow the 2026 Players Championship live leaderboard updates and coverage of Sunday’s Round 4.

The Players Championship has a prize purse of $25 million, the richest of any year-end non-Tour Championship event, with the winner taking home $4.5 million. Overall, The Players will pay out $5 million more than the PGA Tour’s signature event and $3.5 million more than its biggest major championship (the U.S. Open), giving golfers the opportunity to earn life- and career-changing money. Given the strength of TPC Sawgrass’ field, these funds will be highly contested. Don’t miss out as each golfer checks out the course and participates. 2026 Players Championship Round 4 Tee Times and Pairings.

A big week at The Players can provide years of financial security, even for those who don’t make it into the winner’s circle. The best example is last year’s runner-up JJ Spaun, who finished second to Rory McIlroy in the playoffs and earned the biggest salary of his career. Spaun then talked about how meaningful it was for him to continue practicing just to keep his PGA Tour card. His performance on stage at The Players, and the financial stability he was suddenly given, enabled him to have the best season of his career, culminating with a U.S. Open victory in June.

Golfers who finish in the top five (no ties) at The Players will earn more than $1 million, a top 10 finish will earn more than $680,000, a top 20 place will earn more than $330,000, and all players who finish within the top 65 and within the tie cutline will earn more than $50,000. There’s a reason this is a flagship event, and the PGA Tour ensures players have every reason to play their best at The Players.
