        • Alongside Bruno: Manchester United’s new Tevez is becoming one of the best players in the league

Manchester United have regained stability under caretaker manager Michael Carrick, and there are hints that the Red Devils could qualify for the Champions League, albeit in quiet whispers.

It’s a kind of fluid system that has allowed many stars to make new breakthroughs. Above all, Bruno Fernandes has been in great form lately, chasing the Premier League’s all-time assist record and leading his team to the big stage once again.

The experienced midfielder was on the verge of leaving last summer, but INEOS has to thank its lucky stars for wanting to remain at the club despite the pressure on the Portuguese Magnifico to pay a hefty contract with the Saudi Professional League.

Fernandes will likely stay, but the same cannot be said for Casemiro. Despite making a remarkable comeback in recent years, Casemiro is set to leave the club this summer.

Latest information on Casemiro’s future at Manchester United

Pundit Jamie Carragher’s infamous comments about Manchester United’s £70m midfielder have been overturned. Casemiro has been an integral part of Old Trafford’s resurgence in recent months and has also won silverware in recent years.

Still, although Casemiro celebrated his 34th birthday last month and his heroics against Aston Villa last weekend helped the team return to winning territory in the Premier League and solidify their place in third place, it would be a big risk to lock him down on a hefty salary again.

The veteran has made 154 appearances for the Red Devils since joining from Real Madrid, scoring 24 goals and providing 14 assists. His crunchy defending and confidence on the ball led to some key moments in his England career.

United’s midfield has deteriorated over the last few years and it is vital that things change in the middle of the park. It is inevitable that INEOS will push for big-money reinforcements this summer, but the return of Koby Maynou has eased the rigor somewhat.

And what’s more, Man United may already have signed their next Casemiro, with him set to join this summer.

Manchester United are on the verge of welcoming the ‘next Casemiro’

It has been revealed that Manchester United have reached a pre-contract agreement to sign Cristian Orozco from Brazil’s Fortaleza FC for a whopping fee worth around £750,000 in late 2025. However, he will not officially arrive at Old Trafford until the summer of 2026, when he turns 18.

It has to be said that Casemiro has grown significantly this season, becoming more consistent and convincing as the anchor of the team’s midfield, and now is the right time for him to move on.

United will need to sign a fully developed midfielder to replace him in the short term, but Orozco has the potential to be a mainstay in the future and could immediately join first-team training this summer. Perhaps he might get some chances during the preseason.

A defensive midfielder with a modern flavor to his skillset, Orozco is seemingly made for Premier League football. Youth scout Antonio Mango said he “functions as a defensive-minded midfielder, but can play much more than that.”

Although he is expected to remain in the development squad, Orozco could also follow in the footsteps of players like Mainu in terms of early promotion to the first team.

Of course, talent alone is not enough. This is one of the greatest clubs in the world and they may be on the verge of regaining their dominance.

But Orozco is the complete package, and while he only made two first-team appearances for Fortazela, it’s telling that United’s stats team needed such a shallow talent to make the move.

Given that Orozco will be 18 by the time the new Premier League season begins, he may have the tools to make an immediate impact. A lot will depend on his physicality and presence, but he has the natural qualities to be a first-class holding midfielder, having won 5.2 duels per game in the 2025 CONMEBOL U17 Championship.

In fact, he has already been described by one analyst and scout as “the next Casemiro” and a “midfield destroyer”, which only strengthens the case that Orozco could replace the Brazilian in the future.

Whether it will happen instantly remains to be seen, but Orozco is a top talent and has what it takes to become the club’s new Casemiro, whether next season or in the next few years.
