  • Neville urges Wilcox to strengthen ‘issue’ position
  • Manchester United intensify their move to sign a ‘world-class’ midfielder
        • Manchester United are currently ‘seriously’ looking to sign a Premier League star who is open to a move to Old Trafford.

Casemiro is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, with Jason Wilcox poised to sign a statement to replace him.

Neville urges Wilcox to strengthen ‘issue’ position

Manager Gary Neville has hinted that Man United need to make a lot of reinforcements in the middle of the park this summer, saying: “Central midfield is the problem, Koby Mainu and Casemiro are doing a great job right now for Michael Carrick.

“But every Manchester United fan in this stadium knows that it won’t be enough when we start playing in the Champions League next season.

Neville also said: “Casemiro is leaving, Manuel Ugarte is leaving as well. They need two really good midfield players. One is probably a more positional player, like Michael Carrick, and the other is a disruptor.”

Work has already begun on signing a new central midfielder, with the Red Devils identifying several targets from within the Premier League including Brighton star Carlos Baleva, Nottingham Forest’s Elliott Anderson and Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali.

However, United are also considering options further afield, with Wilcox recently making an approach to sign the Real Madrid star, and are not holding back.

Manchester United intensify their move to sign a ‘world-class’ midfielder

As reported by TEAMtalk, Manchester United have begun contract negotiations with Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, with the race for the Frenchman intensifying as intermediaries have revealed that the Frenchman is expected to be available this summer.

Liverpool and Chelsea are also looking to sign the Frenchman, with Arne Slott’s side currently leading the race, but given he is open to a move to London, the Blues could pose a problem.

The 23-year-old is nearing his prime and will want to ensure he is a regular starter wherever he goes, which is no surprise, having been hailed as a “world-class” player by journalist Raj Chauhan.

The Madrid star is particularly adept at winning back possession, averaging the second-highest number of tackles per 90 in La Liga this season.

Neville expects two defensive midfielders, Ugarte and Casemiro, to leave Man United this summer, so bringing in players with a similar profile is important and Camavinga could be the ideal addition to the squad.
