The Egyptian international has announced that he will end his time at Anfield at the end of this season, but it is not yet clear where he will go next.

According to our sources, Salah’s likely options are the Saudi Pro League or MLS, but he could still end up in Europe.

According to Ficajes, Barcelona have been tempted to sign Salah, with coach Hansi Flick already planning his role in the squad.

Although Salah’s form has declined this season, the 33-year-old may still have the ability to perform at the highest level.

A move to Barcelona could be the ideal next step for Mohamed Salah

We’ve seen Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi continue to play for Europe’s top clubs into their late 30s, and Salah appears to have the same desire to do the same.

But there is no doubt that changing the fast and furious Premier League to the slightly slower paced and technical La Liga will make it a little easier for him.

In fact, Salah could replace Robert Lewandowski in Barça’s front line, with the Poland international set to turn 38 later this year.

Lewandowski was able to perform at a high level during his four years in Spain, so perhaps Salah could step into that role and aim to do the same.

The story comes as Jamie Carragher speculated that Salah may still have his eyes set on one more European club before considering places like the Saudi Pro League or MLS.
