Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a potential surprise move for in-form midfielder James Garner to rivals Everton.
The England international has performed at a high level for the Toffees this season and is thought to be likely to feature for the Three Lions at this summer’s 2026 World Cup.

According to Fichajes, Garner could make a big move and Liverpool are said to be determined to sign him.
It’s not often that we see Liverpool and Everton making deals, so if this deal were to go through, it would definitely be very controversial.
The 25-year-old is also a former Manchester United player, but it’s not often that a player represents Manchester United or Liverpool.
James Garner appears ready for big summer move
Garner has scored three goals and provided six assists in all competitions this season, showing solid and balanced play in midfield.
Statistics site WhoScored named Garner the highest-rated player in Everton’s squad, with an average rating of 7.23/10 for the 2025-26 season.
They also say that while Garner has a number of outstanding strengths, including crossing, passing, tackling and interception, they do not see any significant weaknesses in his game.
It makes sense that we now see Garner being linked to a big move like LFC, with Arne Slott perhaps needing a more quality player in the middle of the park.
However, Everton were able to sign Garner to a new contract, which was recently confirmed on their official website.
Earlier, the Daily Mail had linked Garner with his former club Man United, who would also certainly benefit from adding a midfielder this summer.
