Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Atalanta defender Marco Palestra at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old full-back is currently on loan at Cagliari, where he has been enjoying impressive results. According to a report from SportWitness, the player’s transfer fee could be around 45 million euros this summer, so it will be interesting to see if Liverpool make a move to sign him.

He can function as a full-back on either flank and could be a great addition for Liverpool. It’s no secret that Liverpool need more depth at full-back. They are struggling due to lingering injury problems at right-back and the Palestra would be a great option.

He has shown that he can become a reliable defender and influence future matches. His ability to play in the left-back role will be a bonus. Andrew Robertson is expected to leave the club at the end of the season, and the 20-year-old Italian could fill his void.

The asking price is very high for a young talent like him and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool are prepared to pay big for him. The player has the quality and potential to justify investment in the future, and this deal may look like a shrewd investment in the long term.

Atalanta hope he will return to the club in the summer and be able to play next season. However, it may be difficult for them to turn down lucrative offers. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop in the coming weeks. The opportunity to join Liverpool would also be attractive for the young defender. Playing regular football in England will accelerate his development and bring out the best in him.
