        • Manchester United are preparing to make an aggressive move towards signing their £100m star and hope to finalize a deal as soon as possible

Manchester United are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer, with Casemiro set to leave the club, and they are currently considering a move for VfB Stuttgart star Angelo Stiller.

But the Bundesliga star is not the only player on the shortlist, with the Red Devils also keen to sign Elliott Anderson, with a move to Manchester expected to be completed in some form at the end of the season.

Coach Fabrizio Romano recently said: “As for Elliott Anderson, I keep telling everyone that Man City are on the hunt for him. They want that player and have started negotiations with the camp. They have started a deal to sign Elliott Anderson from Nottingham Forest.”

“Still, nothing has progressed. Man City want to respect Nottingham Forest in the relegation battle. He is an important player so now is not the time to negotiate a transfer fee. We need to see at the end of the season whether they are in the Championship or the Premier League. That will be important in understanding the fee.”

Man United will be forced to move on to other targets if the prospect of a move to the Etihad Stadium proves too attractive for the Nottingham Forest star, and they have now expressed a genuine interest in signing Stuttgart star Stiller.

This is according to a report from TEAMtalk, whose head of recruitment Christopher Wibel is personally a huge fan of the German maestro, who is expected to earn around £50 million.

Manuel Ugarte is now expected to move on alongside Casemiro, further increasing the need for United to bring in at least two new midfielders this summer, with Ben Mattinson reportedly extremely impressed with Stiller’s performances in 2023-24.

Scout said: “One of the most consistent DLP players this season and a breakout star. He is very complete and has the ability to be a standalone number six. He has a great left foot and is a great ball winner who sprays, clips and crosses passes from deep and is quick to pass. He is also very safe.”

The 25-year-old has also provided five assists in the Bundesliga this season, averaging more passes per 90 in the Bundesliga (69.5) than any of Michael Carrick’s players in the Premier League.

Of course, qualifying for the Champions League is crucial for Man United if they are to sign top players in the summer, and they are in a strong position to finish in the top five.

The Red Devils are in third place, seven points behind sixth-placed Chelsea, with seven games remaining ahead of Monday night’s clash with Leeds United at Old Trafford.
