Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to sign Andy Robertson at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old Scotland international has announced that he will be leaving Liverpool this summer. His contract expires at the end of the season and Liverpool have decided to let him leave for free.

Tottenham have reached a verbal agreement with the Liverpool defender, who will join on a free transfer once he is safe in the Premier League, according to Fabrizio Romano. They are currently fighting to remain in the league and are 18th in the league table. If they are relegated in the summer, Scotland will not be represented.

It looks like Robertson could be the first to sign Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham. They could use more quality and depth in their defensive unit. Adding an experienced player like him would be a wise decision. Signing a player like him on a free contract could be a huge success. Not only will he help them improve defensively, but his leadership qualities and winning experience will help them improve both on and off the pitch.

The Liverpool star wants to play more often at this stage of his career and a move to Tottenham could be ideal for him. He could replace Ben Davis next season.

Despite their struggles this season, Tottenham have a talented squad that should be fighting for trophies. They have brought in a quality manager, so the Italian could help turn things around. No wonder Liverpool’s star player chose to join them.
