In the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, PSG faced Liverpool with a 2-0 aggregate lead after the first half.
They took a comfortable lead in the first leg at home and survived a goalless first half of the second leg. Liverpool had a great chance to close the gap thanks to Virgil van Dijk, but it was thwarted by an unusual goal-line block from Marquinhos.

Hugo Ekitike is seriously injured
Liverpool opted to move Mohamed Salah to the bench at the start of the match, starting Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike. However, the France international suffered a serious injury in the first half and had to be carried away on a stretcher.
Although the true extent of the damage is yet to be determined, Ekitike appears to have suffered a serious blow that could easily end their season. With the World Cup coming up later this summer, there will be a big question mark over his participation in the mega-event.
Rumors suggest the Liverpool striker may have injured his Achilles tendon and could be out for nine to 12 months.

Ekitike’s injury is a big blow.
Isak has just returned from injury and Salah is not at his best, so the absence of their top scorer (17 goals) for the rest of the season will be a big blow for Liverpool. They have had a disappointing season so far and will be fighting to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Ekitike did reasonably well in his debut season at Liverpool and could have been a very useful option for the attacking team for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, Ekitike has recently linked up with clubs such as Real Madrid.
