Mason Mount wasn’t exactly Mr. Popular when he returned to his former club Chelsea with Manchester United in Saturday night’s Premier League match.
The England international was once a real fan favorite at Stamford Bridge, but his relationship with Blues supporters has clearly deteriorated since leaving to join Man United in 2023.

Mount did not receive a friendly welcome upon his return to Chelsea this evening, and it appears the player himself could not stand the backlash from the home crowd.

Mount probably enjoyed it, and the 27-year-old was on the winning side today, which could be an important result in the race for a Champions League place this season.
Manchester United dent Chelsea’s Champions League hopes
United won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a first-half goal from Matheus Cunha, a result that ensured their place at Europe’s top table next season.
The Red Devils are currently 10 points clear of Chelsea, who are in dire form and are likely to have to settle for a spot in the Europa League next season, leaving them outside the top five.

United really needed a big improvement and they have achieved that this season under caretaker manager Michael Carrick, with the club looking much better since the sacking of previous manager Ruben Amorim.
In contrast, Chelsea have looked even worse since replacing Enzo Maresca with Liam Rosenior, with this young team struggling to find consistency again.
