The former Red Devils striker is a big fan of Gibbs-White, praising him as a “top, top player” and an “aggressive” player in midfield.
The England international has been one of Forest’s most important players for some time now, with an impressive 15 goals and five assists in all competitions this season.
Sheringham feels he is a different type of player to his Forest teammate Anderson, but believes the pair can complement each other well in Man United’s midfield at an affordable price.
Manchester United urge to sign Forest duo
Asked about United’s plans to strengthen their midfield this summer, Sheringham told TEAMtalk: “I really like Anderson from Nottingham Forest and I really like Gibbs-White as well. When Tottenham came on board to sign him I was really excited about it.”

“Given his talent as a player, I can understand why Forest didn’t let him go.
“He’s completely different from Anderson. He comes forward, he has great tenacity, he wants to fight people, he has that aggression and the will to win. I think he’s a top, top player.”
“He comes on in a slightly different way to Anderson, but they complement each other perfectly in Forest’s midfield.
“Will they (United) be able to get both? It’s a question of money. What an instant duo to add to the Manchester United squad.”
This is not the first time Gibbs-White has been linked with a move to United, with the Daily Mail recently reporting that the 26-year-old is a target.
